With an extensive background in design, fashion retail marketing and creative management, Nicky offers invaluable all-rounder experience. Her seemingly limitless energy reflects in her bubbly personality and 11pm check-list emails 😉 Nicky enjoys photography and being outdoors, as well as maintaining an enviable level of fitness and all-year-round tan.

Heidi brings over 20 years of experience in retail and store design to the team. The retail space is her natural environment, where she thrives in the creative processes of store design and visual merchandising. Heidi’s need to keep things organised is made visible by her penchant for colour-coded collections of just about anything. She happily defends this trait with her lightning-fast wit and wicked sense of humour.

Julia (pronounced You-lee-ya) offers a rare combination of visual merchandising history and client service experience on one of SA’s biggest fashion retail brands. She’s known for making sure that things run smoothly, and for keeping Superbalist in business. She’s passionate, super organised, and rides a motorcycle… a big one.

Jessica is a communication designer with experience in the fields of visual merchandising and advertising, and loves research, strategy and right angles. She is a designer and DTP artist. Being a total nature-nerd, she also teaches biomimicry in her free time; a practice that combines her love of biology and design (and, secretly, engineering).

Anthea is a talented designer, with many years of experience in some of Cape Town’s top agencies. Her fields of expertise range from traditional design, to art direction. She is known for her beady eye for crafting design details. Her other passions include sculpture, gardening and renovating houses. When she is not working she is fond of long walks on the beach and a good cup of coffee.

Chad is a designer by training, art director by trade and now an emerging content creator. His 10 years of experience in retail advertising keeps our clients’ campaigns strategically sound and beautifully on-trend. He is a prolific creative with a cheeky sense of humour and a knack for problem-solving. Chad also has a thing for dress up parties, cat videos and is, secretly, quite the DIY guy!

Joffre. Our Ecuadorian import. Where do we even start? Officially he is our web designer. Unofficially, he is our photographer, graphic designer, video producer, and, on unlucky days, IT guy. His experience covers working for both local and international clients. On rare occasions, he also makes us swoon by speaking in Spanish.

Ray puts out fires, both literally and metaphorically. When he’s not saving the Western Cape from raging infernos, he’s saving The Retail Studio from any impending print or prop making calamities. Equipped with years of experience in both print production and retail equipment he is our go-to guy for all things technical.

There is a rumour that this retail design maestro was born holding a pencil and sketch pad. He often uses his super power during meetings and can bring ideas to life with a few strokes with a pen. Maurice has designed stores for most of the South African retailers over the years. When not behind his computer, he has a second life as member of a well-known SA rock band.

In her leopard print outfit, gold earrings and Adidas takkies, you can’t miss Bonny. With 20 years in the Sports retail industry, she has experience in trade marketing, customer service and e-commerce, and has a real passion for people. Bonny assists us on photo shoots, where her upbeat personality also plays a vital role in keeping the team energy levels up. Bonny’s other passion is dancing.
